Marylou
Proprietor and designer of Garage Motorcycles, Marylou endorses rider
training and is an active member of public road safety programmes.
Marylou opened the Garage in 2003, after 17 years of rider training for
the government (Ridersafe and MASA) and private coaching (Roadcraft+
Training Techniques) for motorcyclists at both advanced and beginner
levels. Marylou is a qualified interior designer and has studied sport
psychology and anthropology. She enjoys riding both her lovingly
restored Moto Guzzi Le Mans M1 (1978) and her sportier Aprilia RSV1000R
Colin Edwards Replica. Marylou's favourite past times include listening
to good music (preferably Bruce Springsteen), watching MotoGP
(Marylou's fave rider is M.Biaggi), and riding her motorcycles. Most
days you can try catching Marylou at Garage Motorcycles.
Tammy
Tammy recently completed a Bachelor of Archaeology (Forensic) at
Flinders University. Tammy joined the Garage Motorcycles team in 2003.
She is currently the assistant manager, overseeing spare parts,
café and occasionally helping in sales. Tammy also helps Marylou
organize such events as Shannon Insurance Promo, MacPark ride days and
Phillip Island ride days. In her spare time Tammy enjoys ballet,
watching MotoGP (her fave rider is M.Poggiali) and riding her Aprilia
RS125. Tammy looks to further her studies in both business management
and her chosen field of forensic archaeology.
Mel
Mel is currently studying a Bachelor of Education at Flinders
University. Mel enjoys riding both her horses and her little Kawasaki
ZZR250. Mel is a talented guitar player. She hopes one day to
incorporate her skills with her teaching degree. She enjoys listening
to music, watching MotoGP (Mel's fave rider is H.Barbera) and having a
good time. Mel is in charge of the café every Saturday and helps
maintain the Garage Motorcycles' website. Mel is local resident of
Strathalbyn and has been working at Garage Motorcycles since its
opening in 2003.
Angus
Angus is currently completing his mechanic apprenticeship at Garage
Motorcycles in conjunction with his SACE. Angus joined the Garage team
in 2004, after demonstrating an immense interest and talent in
motorcycle repairs and tuning. In his spare time Angus enjoys go-kart
racing, riding dirt and road bikes, playing in-line hockey and watching
any type of motorcycle racing. Angus looks forward to completing his
apprenticeship and one day opening a workshop of his own.
Shannon
Shannon joined the Garage Motorcycles team in 2005 and has developed
his skills in spare parts. He is currently completing his SACE Stage 2,
after which Shannon looks to further his studies. His ultimate ambition
is that one day he will own and operate his own motorcycle dealership.
Shannon is a talented motor cross racer and hopes to compete on a more
advanced level once his SACE is completed. In his spare time Shannon
enjoys playing football for Strathalbyn, having a good time and
watching freestyle, dirt track and motor cross racing.
Geoff
Geoff is commonly known as "Wilko", and is the chief mechanic at Garage
Motorcycles, through his wisdom, knowledge and experience in motorcycle
repairs and general maintenance of Italian and Japanese motorcycles.
Wilko has now been with Garage Motorcycles for sixteen months and has
found Marylou (and her crew) great to know and work with. Wilko has
been associated with motorcycles both professionally and privately for
over thirty years. He currently rides and proudly owns a couple of
Ducati's (ST4s and an S2 mille, which is currently in surgery) and is a
member of the Ulysses Club (Mallee Branch). Wilko enjoys both touring
and spirited riding, along with squash, lawn bowls and swimming. Wilko
was born and bred in the Riverland (in the town of Berri), is married
with two children (son and daughter) and has one granddaughter.
